What is Silver Antimicrobial?
Circe Socks are knit with Ionic+® Antimicrobial, a fabric technology that uses positively charged silver ions to continuously clean microbes from fabric. This permanent technology is part of the fiber itself – it never washes out, allowing socks to go longer between washes and promote a longer lifecycle for both socks and footwear.
How it works
Odor in socks isn't really about sweat — sweat itself doesn't smell. But sweat plays a role in creating the moist background that lets those bacteria thrive and product the metabolic byproducts that actually smell.
Ionic+® targets those odor-causing bacteria at the source, continuously working against them for as long as the sock is worn. Bacteria carry a negative charge. Silver ions carry a positive charge. When engineered into textiles, these ions are attracted to bacteria and disrupt respiration, cell division, and replication. Because the silver ions are permanently bonded into the fiber, the effect never fades, never needs reapplying, and lasts the life of the sock.
